Elias Jacks was born in June of 1858 in Germany. He and his wife Johanna Schnell (pictured), along with their children, resided in Schlochau, WestpreuBen, Germany until their arrival to New York in 1893. Elias and Johanna had 6 known children. Their daughter, Hilda married Ernest Henry Rack, who's mother was Elizabeth Metzger (Christopher Jens Metzger's 2nd Great Grand Aunt).
In both Germany and in New York, Elias was a Bookbounder by profession.
